Parents say that their kids gain these things by having a part-time job:
1. Money smarts-teenagers can be a bottomless money pit for parents. When they realize how hard they have to work for their spending money they quickly realize that they can live without some pricey items and they appreciate the ones they do buy more.
2. Confidence and Responsibility-a teen realizes some one is counting on them and they become more mature about bablancing their job, school and social life. This leads them to having confidence in themselves and to try out new things that they might be good at.
3. People skills and Compassion for others-dealing with difficult managers and rude or grouchy customers is a lesson well learned early. They also learn compassion for others who are working in difficult and sometimes understaffed jobs.
